'woman' magazine- Front Cover Analysis
Masthead:
The magazine makes it clear that it is aimed at women, as the title is 'woman'. The off cream colour is clear to read and in a font that looks very feminine and hand written. It shows who the target audience is clearly.
Main image:
The main image is of a young woman, maybe a stereotypical 1960s woman. It is the type of female you would expect to be on the front cover of a British magazine as she is a white, middle class, British woman. She looks very happy and pretty, she is wearing minimal makeup which makes her look pure and innocent. Lisbet Van Zoonen's feminist theory plays a big part in the idea that culture plays a big part in how females present themselves in society with their influence.
